Govt will bring a 'well-consulted' cryptocurrency bill: Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on December 4 that the government will bring a well-consulted cryptocurrency Bill.

The minister, however, reiterated that unregulated speculation about the developments in crypto space is ‘unhealthy’,

 November 29, Sitharaman had clarified that there is no proposal to recognise Bitcoin as a currency. While responding to a query in the Parliament on the government does not collect  data on Bitcoin transactions, she had said.
